Laser Tag H05 – Adding components to Gun

Love Jesus, Love Code

In this section I install the reload button, infrared sensor, infrared transmitter, display and LED strip

Drill a hole for the reload button
IR Transmitter and IR receiver are installed. First a hole is drilled for the IR transmitter, then a slit is cut for the IR transmitter. The IR transmitter may be improved by putting the LED in a tube that will help direct the beam in a more accurate direction. This setup will still work ok. The parts are glued in with a hot melt glue gun. This means they can easily be removed and reset if needed. Make sure the IR receiver wires remain separated or they can short out while the gun is operational.
A hole is cut for the display, and then the display is glued in with a hot melt glue gun.
The light strip is not glued in yet, but just sits in place. Once the wires are soldered, the LED strip can be glued to the gun.

3 For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. 6 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts:
If prophecy, use it according to the standard of one’s faith;
7 if service, in service;
if teaching, in teaching;
8 if exhorting, in exhortation;
giving, with generosity;
leading, with diligence;
showing mercy, with cheerfulness.

Romans 12:3–8 (HCSB)

The church was designed to have a number of different parts, just like our laser tag gun. If our laser tag gun just consisted of IR Transmitters, even the IR transmitter wouldn’t be able to send anything without the wires, and the trigger, and the controller. Even the parts that exist wouldn’t be able to function to their full potential.

It’s a pretty good way of viewing the church. It means that everyone in the church doesn’t have to be a clone of everyone else. If you are at church and you feel like there is no-one else like you, then it probably means you belong there. The problem may not be you, it might actually be an abundance of diversity, and you’ve just made the church more balanced. So get in and serve with the gifts God has given you.

I like the slogan “Don’t sit on your assets”. Sometimes the problem in a church can be that they are not utilising the people that God has given them to build up the church. But, let’s not blame the church here too soon. Let’s be honest, the problem is possibly us as well, when we aren’t willing to use our gifts to build up the church. The other slogan I like is “everyone has a role to play”. From the 5-year-old right up to the 95-year-old, everyone has a role to play. And because all the parts are different, we should see a variety in the ways that people serve.

So play your part.
