Laser Tag H03 – Installing Battery System

Love Jesus, Love Code

Gun Shell

While you can possibly 3d print your own gun, a better option is often to find a cheap pre-made toy that you can add all of your Laser Tag components to. I have chosen a cheap “Light Up Space Blaster” from K-mart. It includes a good trigger mechanism, speaker, spots for lights, and enough room to fit the necessary components. Unfortunately K-mart no longer sells this gun.

Strip out parts that are not needed

Using a soldering iron to remove components
Removing unwanted metal components from old battery holder

Installing new components

Mark, drill and cut hole for on/off switch
Once the hole is large enough, the button can be pushed through.

Install power socket

Solder in battery back and charging circuit. Plug the gun in and it should glow red. The light will change to blue once the battery is charged. I did not use an external LED for this as the onboard light can be seen through the clear plastic so I know if it is charging. I was using 12v to charge the gun.

26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will place My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My statutes and carefully observe My ordinances.

Ezekiel 36:26–27 (HCSB)

To create these laser tag guns, we are taking the insides out of an existing gun, and changing it around. We are giving these Guns an upgrade.

Throughout the Old Testament, there was a problem. God’s people failed to obey him. God gave them rules to obey, but they broke them, he sent prophets, but they did not listen to them, and often did harm to them. He sent miracles, and oppression, and sickness, but these things did not help his people turn back to him.

God’s plan for a future people was given to the prophet Ezekiel. God’s plan was to change the heart of people, so that they would follow God and desire to follow him. The problem is that humans naturally disobey God, and it seems to be a natural desire for them to want to live for themselves. When Jesus died on the cross, and the spirit was poured out at Pentecost, a new age began. The age of the spirit, where God’s spirit works in all Christians to help them to carefully obey God. The desire of Christians are no longer to live for themselves, but to live for God. And this desire does not come from themselves, they can’t wish it on themselves, this desire comes from God.

Just like we will see a massive transformation from the old type of gun to the new kind of gun, we should be able to see transformation in the lives of a Christian as their desires change to serve God and others.
